Good Evening to one and all present here!

Today is a special day for all of us here in Bishop Remigius School. On this wonderful day as we have gathered here to witness the 9 th Annual Day of Bishop Remigius School, I take this grand occasion to welcome our Bishop Most. Rev. Dr. Nazarene Soosai, President and chairman of our school. Mr.M. Murugan the district educational officer for the private schools, who is our chief guest. Rev. Fr.John Rufus the Vicar General and Rev. Fr. Francis Xavier the financial administrator of the diocese, our correspondent Rev.Fr. Grace Gunabal Arachi, Vice Principal Ms. Shanthi, academic Coordinator Mr. Simon Navis, Mr. Irwin Mahesh, PTA president of our school, invited guests, Rev. Fathers, Sisters and parents welcome you all.
Bishop Remigius School was established in the year 2015. On the wonderful occasion of the Episcopal Silver Jubilee of Most.Rev.Dr.Peter Remigius, Bishop Emeritus of Kottar. From that day the campus got flourished and started to fly with colorful feathers through the everlasting support of The Almighty, loving chairman, correspondents, staff, parents and the blooming buds. The BRS campus is known as the heaven of knowledge. It has started to fulfill the educational needs of the people throughout the district. It's my greatest honour to present before you the achievements our school accomplished in the academic year 2022-23.
This report encompasses the achievements of our school in the past and sets the platform for greater accomplishments in the years to come.

Academic Year:

As the summer sun fades and the air becomes crisp, excitement fills the classrooms of BISHOP REMIGIUS School, heralding the highly anticipated reopening for the 2023-24 academic year. After a month and a half of summer holidays, students, teachers, and staff eagerly gather once again to embark on an extraordinary journey of knowledge, growth, and connection. We started the school on the 13 th June 2023 for classes 1 st to 12 th and for the KG sections 15 th June 2022 with the total strength of 1850 students and 82 teachers.

Academic Achievements:

Every child is a reflection of God and they are born to win. Therefore the academic achievements of our learners reflect the diligence and proficiency of the students in the field of education. They have brought laurels to the school as they excel in their performance every year especially in the year 2023 in CBSE examination. Sincere cheers to all of their hard work.
Hereby I do place the record of our students:
Our school topper for the class XII Board Exam was Selvan. Vishal Chidambaram with 95% marks
Our school topper for Class XCBSE examination was Selvi. Àkshaya with 97% marks. Congratulations to all the achievers who passed with flying colours.

Teachers Orientation Programme:

“It’s the teacher that makes the change, not the mere classroom”. We believe in equipping teachers to prepare the students for the future and to update their knowledge. Upgradation of skills is of utmost importance for teachers. Keeping this in mind, BRS organised one week Orientation Programme for the teachers by the experts in various fields.Through regular staff meetings and evaluation we plan for the future with more innovative methods of teaching and learning programs.

Award and Recognition:

Every milestone makes a history and every history is the proof of the past. We are indeed glad to place it on a record that our school for the third consecutive time received Microsoft Showcase Award on the 20 th November 2022,

Kamarajar Day Celebrations :

The Day was celebrated in our school premises on 15 th July 2022. Mrs. Gilt Arachi, the former Professor of Holy Cross College was the chief Guest for the event and the students entertained the gathering by varieties of cultural events.

Investiture Ceremony :

The investiture ceremony signifies the reliance and confidence that the school places in the newly selected council bearers. With this motive, our school celebrated its annual investiture ceremony on 26th July 2022. The newly elected leaders were honoured by the chief guest, Most Rev. Dr. Nazarene Soosai, the Bishop of Kottar Diocese and the guest of honour, Rev. Fr. John Kennedy. They were conferred with badges and sashes. The Student Council took a pledge to uphold school values. The following students were selected for the school prefectural Board respectively,

Independence Day Celebration :

This is to commemorate the supreme sacrifice of the great martyrs who gave their lives for the sake of freedom, Independence Day celebrations took place with high spirits in Bishop Remigius School on 13 th of August 2022. Most Rev. Bishop Peter Remigius presided over the function and our students passionately participated in various activities including singing, dancing for patriotic songs and miming. It was a day to be cherished.

Teachers' Day Celebration :

A good teacher is like a candle as it consumes itself to light the way for others, and leads you to the threshold of the heart and mind. We value the role of the teachers at BRS. Celebration of teachers’ day is to recollect their contribution and thank them for their selfless service. And this was expressed as our senior students organized special assembly and a cultural event including games for our dear teachers.

Blessing Ceremony of Amala Annai Auditorium :

Everything we enjoy is the blessing from above and once again our school is blessed to have an auditorium. Most Rev. Dr. Nazarene Soosai, the bishop of Kottar Diocese blessed the Amala Annai Auditorium on 8 July 2022. The new complex can accommodate the Auditorium, Library, Computer Lab and an Activity Room.

Sports Day Celebration :

Champions aren’t made in the gyms. Champions are made from something they have deep inside them – a desire, a dream and a vision. Games and sports have become an integral element of present day education. They teach them the qualities of discipline, sportsmanship, team spirit and leadership. They also enhance the physical and mental development of children. BRS celebrated the Annual Sports Day on 29th October. Inter-House activities prepare them to be goal oriented and epitomize their love for different houses they belong to. Take a look at the result.
1 st runner up-Red House, 2nd runner up Green House –and the 3rd place- Yellow House .
In the end, the winners were awarded medals and certificates by the Chief Guest Dr. Britto Joy and the guest of honour, Rev. Fr. Stanley Sahaya Seelan.

Graduation Ceremony :

Bishop Remigius School celebrated Graduation Day on 15 th April 2023 to applaud the young enthusiastic learners of Pre-Primary for their commendable performance in the session 2022-23. The occasion was graced by Most. Rev.Dr. Nazarene Soosai, the Bishop of Kottar Diocese and our Correspondent Rev. Fr. Grace Gunabal Arachi. The ceremony was also attended by the parents of the Kinder Garten students.Well done our graduated young scholars.

Children’s Day :

Children are the beautiful flowers of the school garden. They are the only one who decorate the campus by their presence. On the Jayanti of Chacha Nehru, November 14 th . the teachers entertained the students with variety of programs including games, dance, skit etc. Our lovely KG children were dressed up as Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru and stole the show.

Christmas Day Celebration :

Celebration of Christmas brings cheer and love and we celebrated it with the same fervour, spreading the message of love and joy among our children on 23 rd December 2022. Our students danced to joyful tunes. Even the Santa danced to the exciting tunes followed by Christmas skit and songs. This joy of Christmas feel continued feel sharing cakes and chocolates with students and students.

Republic Day :

Republic Day commemorates the spirit of independent and individual India. On this auspicious day we commemorate the power to choose the government democratically. We as republican of the country organized different activities such as miming, skit, dance and song in the school to inculcate the spirit of patriotism and responsibility towards our nation as an Indian Citizen.

School Management Committee :

“A key to achieving success is to assemble a strong and stable management team.” In this endeavour, we have built a strong School Management Committee. SMC usually meets twice in a year. We are extremely happy that our Bishop Dr. Nazarane Soosai, Kottar Diocese takes special interest and participates actively in these meetings.

CBSE Schools Tournament :

This year we had the responsibility of hosting the Sahodaya Inter School Skating Tournament on17th December 2022. The tournament began with an astonishing participation of more than 700 students from seventeen CBSE schools of Kanyakumari, Tirunelveli and Tuticorin districts.

Science Olympiad Programme :

Students of our school actively take part in Science , Maths , English and Informatics Olympiads administered by Science Olympiad Foundation. It gives stimulus to study with the award of certificates, prizes, trophies and medals. Many students excel both in state level and national level competition.

Spell Bee Programme :

The Spell Bee programme held in our school aimed at creating awareness of the possibilities of using varied words in oral and written expression and to add words to the active vocabulary of students. The competition was designed in a pyramid structure enabling each learner studying in Grades 1-12 to participate in the same.

Career Guidance Programme :

Classes 9 th and 11 th had a Career Guidance Programme by Mr. Anto Xavier on 4 th February 2023.

Book Fair :

"A room without books is like a body without soul." The best student of a school is found in the library of the school. Arranging book fair indoctrinate and enhances the reading habit in our students; about 80 students visited Government Polytechnic College for the Book Fair.

Pongal Celebration :

Pongal Celebrations 2023 at BRS was held on 13 January 2023. The stage was adorned with flowers and thoranam, sugarcane stacked to grace the occasion. The day started off with a tamil speech on Pongal, an exclusive villupaatu by our students and a pongal- themed tamil song beautifully sung by the students. The rhythm and the beat of the dance brought graceful movement to the school.

Science Exhibition :

A Science Exhibition was organised on 3 rd March, 2023 for classes 1 to 8 in their respective class rooms, at BRS. The intention was not only to inculcate a scientific attitude and research- mindedness but also to enhance student’s interest in science and technology. The students showcased static and working models, chart works, displays, projects which could be used for teaching and learning scientific concepts.

Skill Development Programme and Co Curricular Activities :

Our school truly believes that physical as well as mental activities play a vital role in building a bright future of the children. There are plethora of Skill Development Programmes that are held in our school like art competitions, music competitions, Elocution in both Tamil and English, Essay Writing, Thirukkural Recitation, Action Song, Story Telling, sports etc. Many students have participated in various inter school competitions and brought laurels for our school.

Annaiyar Kuzhu- Mothers' Committee:

A Five member committee consisting of mothers (Annaiyar. Kuzhu) has been formed. This committee visits the school once in a week and discusses various issues.

Parent-Teacher Association :

We have a strong support of our parents which we cherish every year. The PTA general body meeting is an occasion to acknowledge their service to the school. Our PTA President Mr. Irvin Mahesh together with a team of 15 plans out many developing activities for the school. During the course of the year many meetings are arranged with the parents to discuss teaching learning process. Also days are set apart for parent teacher interaction in which parents are called class wise to meet the teachers on open days or PTMs.

Examinations and Evaluation :

Chapter Tests, Periodical assessments and evaluations are conducted for the students and their progress are informed to the parents frequently. Subject enrichment activities are done by the students and teachers evaluate these as the internal assessment. It is the fact that we are focused on the holistic development of the child, offering an integration of knowledge, skill & values.

Conclusion :

The school over the years endeavored to mould the children to shine both in sports and studies. We encourage spiritual values to be a part of education in school, because we believe a child will learn better only if he/she is explained the purpose of spirituality in life. Spiritual growth is developed through regular prayers, catechism, holy mass and moral studies. This year has been no different from the yesteryears. The teachers, under the guidance of the management have worked tirelessly to create leaders of tomorrow. At this juncture, I would like to thank everyone for their indefinite support they rendered on us. To cap it all, I thank the Almighty God for His continuous protection over us each and every moment of the day and all through the year. I would like to end the Report with the following quote,
